The list of amoral things Alvin has done in this situation is pretty long, and it's all under the greater umbrella of emotional abuse and manipulation (via the sexual abuse of his mentally ill mother) to make him do it. If you want to be trite, his family situation can be summed up as Hamlet but Anime. I won't bring anything up without first giving a content warning, and if you would prefer I avoid some subjects entirely, please let me know here. Alvin is not fazed by most of these things being brought up, but is adept at emotional manipulation himself, and until the last quarter of Xillia 1, has few to no reservations about behaving like an absolute bastard.
